Week 10 then. The point of no return. Mark and the staff says that when you have reached this far, done what should be done, then we can no longer go back to our old self and ask to be let in. 🙂
And who would want that? Not me anyway. I love my new me above all else.
Haanel’s great text summarizes it all so perfect:
“The ordinary man, who has no definite knowledge of cause and effect, is governed by his feelings or emotions.”
“He thinks chiefly to justify his action. If he fails as a businessman, he says that luck is against him. If he dislikes music, he says that music is an expensive luxury. If he is a poor office man, he says that he could succeed better at some outdoor work. If he lacks friends, he says his individuality is too fine to be appreciated.”
“He never thinks his problem through to the end. In short, he does not know that every effect is the result of a certain definite cause, but he seeks to console himself with explanations and excuses. He thinks only in self-defence.”
“On the contrary, the man who understands that there is no effect without an adequate cause thinks impersonally. He gets down to bedrock facts regardless of consequences. He is free to follow the trail of truth wherever it may lead. He sees the issue clear to the end, and he meets the requirements fully and fairly, and the result is that the world gives him all that it has to give, in friendship, honor, love and approval.”
All this just gets better and better, and there are many weeks left. Then remains only the rest of life that we can develop through. And best of all is that the stronger, more stable, more clear, positive, and present we are: the more and the better we can influence other people around us to change direction in their lives. “Give more, get more.”
One of the absolutely most important and perhaps most difficult thing for me has been to forgive everyone, absolutely everyone. Now I understand that carrying anger towards someone is the dumbest thing you can do! It poisons oneself more and more, while nothing in the situation can be improved by it. How stupid ain´t that ?? 🙂
It is so wonderful that it is no longer my ego that must dominate and run wild. I do not react uncontrollably, and I do not have to utter a lot of opinions about someone just to blend in with the gang. Thank you for that! 🙂
By the way… my mental diet continues, soon I crack the code! 🙂
I wish you all the most amazing week!
